Simulation
A VR search-and-rescue simulation built with a military subject-matter expert to teach TCCC MARCH (Massive hemorrhage, Airway, Respirations, Circulation, Head injury/hypothermia), the Army's standard for treating a downed patient in the field. Players locate an injured ranger, work through the MARCH protocol on-site, and coordinate an evacuation.
Built for Unity's Iron-Dev competition at I/ITSEC, in direct partnership with Unity. The project ran on HDRP, one of the earliest uses of Unity's high-definition pipeline in a VR training scenario.
MY ROLE
I was the sole designer on a two-person team, working alongside an engineer who handled VR-specific technical requirements. I owned the simulation's narrative, environment, and instructional design end to end.

Designed the simulation narrative and story beats, pitched via storyboard to the team and our SME to ensure accurate coverage of TCCC MARCH

Hand-sculpted a 1 km² terrain and built all environment art, guiding players from a walking path into a wooded search area

Designed in-world UI with instructional popups guiding each step of MARCH: tourniquet application, airway insertion, pulse checks

Modeled and textured key props: a nasopharyngeal device, leg tourniquet, Stokes rescue basket, and a custom rescue drone

Handled VR optimization on experimental HDRP: texture atlasing, custom LODs, baked lighting, and mesh baking
